Reveal

Factory furniture is controlled for efficiency, for repeatability, for uniformity. While I believe factory built furniture has its place, it says more about seasonal trends and supply chain management than it says about its owner. Custom woodworking is a journey or revelation in three ways:

Reveal Yourself

Do you like to host a martini hour? Listen to vinyl? Keep a space for each of your children? What is true of you now that you want to remain true for decades? In spending time to define your own vision of thriving, you reveal yourself and just may discover something new and exciting.

Reveal Your Space

Do you desire a space that is grounding, exciting, hospitable, sophisticated? How you use your space is the starting point affects how people move through a room, where eyes fall, display vs. storage, and many other small decisions. These decisions add up to a space that reveals and restores you. Not just a place to crash, but a place you can really hang your hat (I can literally build a place to hang your hat if that’s what you want).

Reveal Something Together

Wood is a wonderful, renewable, organic material that is as unique as a fingerprint. Each board has distinct grain patterns, knotholes, and character that can never be repeated. Every project evolves over the course of construction to reveal what will be best. Details in joinery, trim, and finish are as informed by the wood as they are by the design. It’s an exciting process to relinquish a little control to the material, to partner with the wood in discovering just what it can be.

How it Started

My name is Todd. I spent 20 years in design and brand management. All the while, my passion was to build with my hands. In 2020, I made it my business and haven’t looked back. I love to bring meaning to the difference between existing and living, and I’m always curious about the unique journey that can be for each person, each place, and each piece. This results in a process that delights clients and makes them feel more at home than they’ve ever felt before. Many of my clients are now friends, because we share so much life in our time together.

Stressing the Little Things

I favor timeless simplicity with bespoke details that you only notice over time. A bevel here, a shadow line there, new delights to discover as your relationship with your furniture unfolds. I want to create furniture that doesn’t chase trends, but rather becomes an heirloom due to its timeless qualities. I build with a mind toward the life of the owner, the flow of the space, and the function of the furniture itself. When all three of these are working together, something special happens.
